Join area on ceiling in common room as I found it ready for taping and mud.
This area was done over a few visits - No quick fixes here...
Pic of completed area! The join has been completely hidden and made ready for finishing!
Area is completed and ready for some color.
An older ceiling in an older home with some issues...the old deficient materials needed to be discarded first before attacking the area with a repair strategy.
The trouble spot was built out, primed and painted to match with the surrounding area. This was not a quick fix, but the improvement is instantly apparent!
The damaged area of a public restroom as I found it.
Same area of the restroom with damage removed.
Area taped and mud applied for coverage.
And, finally the area completed with vinyl base re-applied.
Not uncommon in some builds this type of issue is addressed best by more than just a little spackle or mud.
After the cracking itself is addressed there is the matter of covering the work done.
After the area is sufficiently built out then a covering is applied to tie it in with the existing work.
Taking time to do outside corners more thoroughly requires extra effort and expense, but the results weather better and are far less fragile than crimping on your corners and hoping nobody bumps into them too hard.
Half way through the job and the hard work is covered and looking encouraging.
The completed area is clean with neat lines leaving the home owner with a very satisfying and seamless look!
This stairwell was started without me. My services were acquired part ways into the project...fortunately they got me when they did, so there wasn't too much backtracking to fix problem areas before continuing.
The idea was to get the area as far as being seam filled and primed to be ready for painting - a blank canvas I suppose, as the owners were in the process of selling the home.
This was a tricky area to correct and finish, but with a little patience and know-how it turned out...
The finished product has solid lines and makes for a fresh clean slate to finish with for the "lucky" painter!
